Our Volunteers

Volunteerism

We are pleased to announce that our operating environment is fully supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Our volunteers are categorized into two wings, the ‘Charity wing’ and the ‘Public wing’. The Charity wing plays a vital role in enabling the public operations.

Composed of highly skilled and dedicated individuals, these volunteers bring strategic talent and professional expertise to our Charity, volunteering their time to make a difference in society. We are fortunate and humbled by the service of these volunteers, who come from a wide range of multicultural and multidisciplinary backgrounds.

In just under two years of operation, our Sharanas have invested more than $1 million dollars, resulting in smooth operations, expansion, and encouragement of our public-facing wing. Our Public Officers are representatives of the community, serving as community leaders who follow and practice the Guru Basava Philosophy as a way of life. These leaders represent either an incorporated or an unincorporated section of the public.

Prior to BSAPAC, services to Guru Basava were confined to the field of philosophical knowledge, visual and performance art. The activities were conservative in style and was mainly confined and focused on the celebration of Guru Basava’s birthday and/or learning of vachanas.

BSAPAC has opened charity services ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ Kāyakavē kailāsa in the fields of Technology, Digital Marketing, Finance, Governance and Administration, Art, Research and Education, Digital Engagement and Enablement, International Relations, Law, to name a few. The BSAPAC Board of Directors oversees the operations of the public and Charity wings, bringing a unique combination of skillsets to provide governance on the Charity and community style of operations.

BSAPAC has also opened opportunities for people to serve anytime from anywhere in almost any field pertaining to ‘Advancement of Education’ as per our service category awarded by the ACNC. We are thrilled to have such a committed team of volunteers, and we look forward to continuing to work together to advance our mission and make a difference in the society.

We affectionately refer to this team as the ‘Charity Sharana team,’ a testament to the following vachana:

The tireless efforts and dedication towards our cause by the volunteers have enabled us to achieve new heights in such a short span of time.

The long-serving volunteers and leaders have created a culture where everyone feels at home, and we work together as a team to drive change and strive for innovation.

As stated in the Guru Basava Philosophy, “We do not seek royal wealth or possessions, but an ounce of service from our volunteers is worth more than any treasure.”

We are deeply grateful for the hard work and commitment of our volunteers, who have demonstrated values of integrity and compassion towards each other. We are proud of their interactions with key community leaders and ministers, including federal ministers, in various forums such as LinkedIn Fireside Chat, Microsoft Reactor, etc.

We are extremely proud of the dedication offered by our teams, especially the ICT team. Amidst, the busy Australian full time work and family commitments. Our Sharanas make time for the Dasoha and coordinate the different time zones.

Several design thinking workshops are held during the early hours of the dawn (4:30 AM) to design, problem solve and endorse the proposals which set the first steps for a high-speed, scalable charity. The team spread across Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide all come together and participate enthusiastically and energetically.
