Cairns Chapter Inauguration
Basava Samiti of Asia Pacific Ltd, Cairns Chapter is an unincorporated member of Basava Samiti of Asia Pacific Ltd (BSAPAC) since Aug 2021. This is the first chapter opened under the operational guidance of BSAPAC. A new chapter in Australia was born after nearly 12 years since the Perth chapter. Queensland is the first state in Australia to host two chapters of BSAPAC.
Mr.Rajashekar Muddappa is the first founding President of Cairns chapter. Mr. Rajashekar and his family spent a reasonable amount of time in the Basava Samiti of Australasia (New Zealand Chapter) Inc. and were eagerly waiting for an opportunity to offer additional services to Guru Basava followers. In 2021, BSAPAC formalised his intent, which led to the birth of a new chapter in Queensland state of Australia.
Since its establishment, Cairns Chapter is actively encouraging adoption, promotion of Guru Basava philosophies and values in the region.

Mr. Rajashekhar Muddappa was virtually sworn in as the first president of the Basava Samiti of Asia Pacific Ltd, Cairns Chapter on the 26 March 2022 in the presence of Poojya Swamiji His Holiness Dr. Shri Basava Marulasidda Swamiji and Guest Speaker Mr. Prabhuling Mahagaonkar from Kalburgi, India.

Guest speaker Mr. Prabhuling Mahagaonkar District President Jagatika Lingayat Mahasabha, Kalaburgi, India, provided an overview of the Basava Yugada Vachana Mahasamputa on which the BSAPAC Organisation is built. Its release of the Bibilical edition.

Maneyalli Mahamane

The inaugural Mahamane event took place at Clifton Beach, Cairns, featuring prayers, Vachana chanting, and discussions about the organization’s future. The focus was on realizing Guru Basava’s dream of inclusivity, accepting individuals from diverse backgrounds without discrimination. Efforts were made to disseminate Basava’s philosophy to those unfamiliar with it. The event, attended by children and artists from Cairns and Brisbane, also included discussions about upcoming tasks and events. A significant outcome was the encouragement of the Karnataka Government, India, to make more copies of the Basava Yugada Vachana Mahasamputa (International Edition) available for international sale and purchase.
